Fabio Costanzo, born in Palermo in 1967, was awarded his degree in architecture specialising in design at the University of Studies of Palermo with a thesis covering a project for a settlement system complex consisting of an Islamic cultural centre and residences in Mazara del Vallo. In 1997, the subject covered in his thesis formed part of the Euro-Mediterranean Culture of the Seas event in Italy, which was under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, and at the “Architetture per l’Islam” [Architecture for Islam]. He holds a Masters in the fields of restoration of monuments and of traditional building technologies.

Maria Rosaria Piazza, born in Trapani in 1966, was awarded her degree in architecture specialising in industrial design planning at the University of Studies of Palermo with an urban thesis on the different plans for restoration of the historical centre of Palermo. She specialises in the study of environmentally friendly building techniques, and with a Masters in bio-architecture, investigates environmental issues related to architectural projects on the design of gardens and landscape layout. She furthered her personal research in the field of interior design in a variety of residential and commercial projects.
